Built in 1893 as residence for the Medical Superintendent, Hockin House is located in Graham Park, and was registered as Historic Places Category 2 by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga 5 Sept 1985.
In its unique history, Hockin House has played many roles - as a residence for families and nurses, as a place for the Waikato Hospital typing pool, and until recently a home over many decades for Waikato Historical Society.
Graham Park has an even longer history which includes mana whenua.
